Notes: Premiere Pro Terminology in Layman's Terms
1) Simply put, Temporal Interpolation in Premiere Pro is a technique for controlling movement sequencing between keyframes whereby an object may maintain the same speed, or increase / decrease in velocity. The default setting in Prem is Linear which maintains a constant speed between two keyframes. Temporal Interpolation can be used to make such motion transitions more smoothly.
It is also worth being aware of Spatial Interpolation which can be thought of basically as a means of controlling transitions in position and shape between keyframes. Spatial Interpolation, if you like, is a mathematical process which fills in or completes missing spatial information, completing it by using neighbouring information as a reference point. Spatial Interpolation can also improve the smooth appearance of motion sequences.
2) Rotoscoping is a an animation technique which basically involves drawing, painting or tracing over live action video footage frame-by-frame to transform it into an animation with believable movement.
3) In Premiere Pro, the Ultra Key gives you control over transparency at an individual colour level. This can be especially useful, for instance, for effects such as green screening.
4) When you burn a caption or subtitle into your Premiere Pro video, this means that it remains visible permanently throughout the playback duration with no option to switch it off.
5) In Premiere Pro the Lumetri Color Panel is a colour grading tool which gives you precision control over the colour and tone of your video footage.
