Advanced Adobe Illustrator Training Course

This one-day Adobe Illustrator advanced course is available for the modern Creative Suite subscription version of Illustrator, and on Mac or Windows operating systems. The course introduces students to some of the more sophisticated ways of working with Illustrator including advanced techniques for layouts, brushes, colours, shapes, paths and also looks at some newer subjects such as working with 3D effects.

Our Adobe Illustrator course is delivered on-site at your workplace or as live virtual classroom for small groups of up to 10 delegates.

The course can be combined with the Beginners Adobe Illustrator training course to create a two-day training programme. Alternatively, you can also blend the training with other Adobe applications, or opt for our five day Creative Cloud Masterclass.

Illustrator Advanced Training Course Prerequisites

In order to attend this course you should already have basic Adobe Illustrator skills and knowledge equivalent to our Beginners training course.

What's the difference between Adobe Creative Cloud and Creative Suite?

Adobe Creative Cloud is Adobe's platform of Cloud-based creative design and desktop publishing apps and tools (such as PhotoShop, Indesign, Illustrator and so forth) which is a subscription-based service for both the All Apps "CC for Teams" suite and for individual apps.

Adobe Creative Suite is Adobe's legacy suite of desktop publishing apps. Old timers will recall that it was licensed with a traditional EULA and the software was physically installed from a disk.

Notes: Adobe Illustrator Terminology in Layman's Terms:

1) In Adobe Illustrator the Live Trace feature allows you to trace the outline of an image as a vector graphic without needing to do this by hand.

2) A Compound Path in Adobe Illustrator is a collection of paths which together create holes where they intersect with one another.

3) Clipping Masks are used to define the visible area in a group of layers. For instance, the lowest layer might contain a shape, the middle layer an image and the top layer a text area. You would use a Clipping Mask to confine the visible area to the dimensions of the shape on the bottom layer.

4) Just about anyone who works in illustration will tell you that the Pathfinder Palette is one of the best and most useful features of Adobe Illustrator. With it you can create custom shapes and paths with a single click. You can morph two or more shapes with combinations of addition, subtraction, exclusions, segmentations, trims, merges and crops giving you an impressive range of flexibility and control over shape manipulation.
