Intermediate AutoCAD Training Course for Technical Drawing

Our Intermediate AutoCAD training course is a two-day event that covers some of the more advancced topics for effective technical drawing in 2D with Computer-Aided Design and also introduces transforming your work into 3D using the Extrude tool. It is intended to introduce users with some experience of the AutoCAD environment to some of the more indepth features of technical drawing with AutoCAD's suite of 2D drawing tools for digital draughtmanship.

This corporate small-group event is conducted either on-site at your premises (anywhere in mainland UK) or as a virtual classroom event. Our small-group intermediate AutoCAD training course covers the most common 2D features that users need to master to get to the next level working with the AutoCAD environment.

This intermediate Computer-Aided Design course is for any version of AutoCAD and can also be delivered for ProgeCAD and Draftsight training covering the same topics over two days. Also, if you're an individual looking to learn AutoCAD, ask us about private one-to-one AutoCAD tuition.

AutoCAD Intermediate Training Course Prerequisites

You should already have an understanding of the principles of drawing for engineering (either reading or creating) and experience with AutoCAD up to a beginners level, equivalent to our two-day Introduction to AutoCAD for Beginners course.

Learners should also have a good familiarity with the Windows 10 or 11 environment including navigating, files and folders and opening, closing and saving documents. Courseware will be provided electronically.

On-site AutoCAD Intermediate Training UK

These are corporate in-house training courses conducted at your workplace for small groups. You should aim to book at least a month in advance and the maximum group size is eight per course.

Our 'face-to-face' closed courses for AutoCAD are delivered as private events and afford more flexibility than off-the-shelf courses with opportunities to tailor content to fit your particular learning needs. Your trainer will discuss your requirements with you prior to the course date.

Live Virtual Classroom AutoCAD Intermediate Courses

If you'd rather that your team learns remotely, these small-group private AutoCAD courses are also available as live virtual, interactive sessions from the comfort of your own office or workplace. These live, instructor-led virtual courses are usually taught via Microsoft Teams, but a number of other conferencing platforms are available on request.

Why choose virtual learning? As we've all become used to Online learning (and live virtual meetings) it is clear that virtual classroom delivery has some advantages over traditional face-to-face learning.

If you're looking for local training, then you can't get closer to your doorstep than you can with virtual learning.

For virtual AutoCAD training events the maximum group size is eight per course and you benefit from full and immersive interaction with your trainer just as if they were in the classroom with you, with engaging hands-on training via advanced live video conferencing that is enriched by features such as live chat, private chat, and sharing screens and documents.

Two-Day Intermediate AutoCAD Training Course Cost: This course costs £1600.00 plus VAT and is available at this price for anywhere between one and six delegates (plus trainer travel expenses for mainland UK). More learners can be added for £50.00 plus VAT per person p/day up to a limit of 8.

This AutoCAD Intermediate course is also available as a live virtual learning training event taught via Microsoft Teams. This option is charged out at £1600.00 plus VAT p/day inclusive up to 6 delegates.

Courses can usually be tailored to suit your particular learning needs at no extra cost. However, please note that for fully bespoke AutoCAD courses, we can only provide you with a quote for training and courseware once we have evaluated your requirements.

AutoCAD Support

AutoCAD support can be pre-booked at the same time as your training and is available face-to-face in hourly blocks via MS Teams, Zoom etc.

Pre-booked AutoCAD support is charged out at £85.00 plus VAT per hour. Or, support booked after your AutoCAD course is charged out at £95.00 plus VAT per hour.

1. On this module you will learn to create Blocks from standard and commonly used elements. These can then be re-used to save draughting time.
Module 2: Dimensioning Your AutoCAD Drawings
1. Dimensioning in Paper space.
2. Setting up dimension styles for dimensioning in Paper space.
Module 3: The AutoCAD Properties Dialog
1. This module focuses upon working with the Properties Dialog to edit elements within your drawings.
Module 4: Precision Drawing with AutoCAD
1. Recap on using Absolute and Relative co-ordinates, and also Grid and Snap to produce accurate drawings.
2. Further object snap methods to make accurate drawing easier to achieve.
Module 5: Introduction to Drawing in 3D with AutoCAD
1. On this module you will learn to use the Extrude tool as you begin to create your first 3D drawings from 2D plans.
Module 6: AutoCAD Layers In-Depth
1. This module explores using some of the more advanced capabilities of layers to facilitate assembly and dimensioning.
Module 7: Working with Paper Space
1. Creating drawing title blocks in Paper Space.
2. Working with viewports to create multiple layouts of a single model.
Module 8: Using the AutoCAD DesignCenter
1. Using elements and blocks from other drawings.
